Who we are

Modern Home Roofing & Chimney is the trade name of Modern Home Construction LLC, a roofing, chimney, gutter and siding contractor in New Jersey, registered as a Home Improvement Contractor under number 13VH13268400. Modern Home Construction LLC is responsible for the information this policy covers. We work at our customers' homes and do not run a public office, so there is no street address on this site. Our phone number is 732-682-9251.

What we collect when you send a form

Our forms ask for some or all of the following:

• Your name
• Your phone number
• Your ZIP code
• The address of the house, if you choose to give it
• The service you need, or what your message is about
• Anything you write in the message box
• Whether water is coming into the house right now, if you tell us it is

With your answers, we receive the address of the page you sent the form from and the time you sent it. If you reached that page from one of our Google ads, we also receive the ad's click reference and the name of the ad campaign, so we know which ad brought you to us. The forms do not ask for your email address.

What we collect when you call or text us

When you call or text, we see your phone number and keep notes of what you tell us, such as what is going wrong and the address of the house, so we can schedule the visit and do the work. We do not record calls. The number on this site is our own.

If you call us by tapping the call button in one of our Google ads, the call goes through a phone number Google provides and then straight to us. Google handles your phone number to connect the call, and reports to us that the call came from the ad, with your area code, the time of the call and how long it lasted. It does not record the call. What Google does with that information is covered by Google's privacy policy.

What we collect automatically

Our web server keeps a short technical log of each visit: your IP address, your browser type, the page you asked for and the time. We use it to keep the site secure and to fix problems, and we delete it after 30 days.

This site loads its fonts from Google Fonts. To send them, Google receives your IP address and browser details. What Google does with that is covered by Google's privacy policy.

Cookies and analytics

We advertise on Google, and this website loads Google's ad measurement tag. It sets cookies in your browser that let us see whether you came from one of our Google ads and whether you then sent us a form or tapped our phone number. We use that to know which ads work and to stop paying for the ones that do not.

We have switched off Google's ad personalization for this tag. We do not use it to build lists of visitors, to follow you around other websites with our ads, or to show you ads based on what you looked at here. We do not use any other analytics or tracking pixels. You can block or delete these cookies in your browser settings, and the website works the same without them. If we add anything else, we will update this page first.

How we use your information

We use it to call you back, schedule and carry out the inspection, write your estimate, do the work and keep records of the job. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone for advertising.

Who else handles it

These outside services handle some of your information:

• Resend, the email service that delivers your form to our inbox
• Our hosting provider, which runs the server this website is on
• Google Fonts, as described above
• Google Ads, for calls made from our ads and to measure which ads lead to a request, as described above

We do not give your information to anyone else unless the law requires us to.

Phone calls and texts

We call the number you give us about your request. We may also text you to confirm an appointment or sort out details of a job. Those texts are typed by a person and sent to you alone. We do not send marketing texts or automated texts. If you would rather we did not text you, tell us and we will only call.

How long we keep it

If you contact us and we do not end up doing a job for you, we delete your details after one year. If we do work for you, we keep the job records for seven years, for tax purposes and so we can stand behind the warranty. Server logs are deleted after 30 days.

Your choices

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Call 732-682-9251. We may need to confirm it is you before we act on the request. Job records we have to keep for tax purposes stay until the seven years are up.

New Jersey residents have rights under the New Jersey Data Privacy Act, including the right to see, correct and delete their personal data and to opt out of its sale or its use for targeted advertising. We do not sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising, and we honor these requests from anyone who asks.

Keeping it safe

The site runs over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Your form goes straight to our inbox by email, and the website itself does not store it. We keep only what we need to do the job.

Children

This website is for homeowners. It is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Do Not Track

Some browsers send a Do Not Track signal. This website does not track you across other sites or use what you do here to target ads at you. The only measurement on it is the Google Ads tag described above, which you can block in your browser.

Links to other websites

We link to other websites, such as Google and the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs. They have their own privacy policies, and this one does not cover them.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we change the date at the top of this page.
